The day was here, the day to drive to New York City. We knew it was going to be the hardest one yet but we had no idea just how difficult. The traffic was crazy. There were firetrucks, taxis, pedestrians, trucks and bikes. All mixed in together too tightly.
If we were smart we would have gone to the toilet before entering the city… well we weren’t. As a result we were stuck in traffic while about to pee our pants. We pulled in at a parking facility and the attendants were nice enough to let us use the bathroom in exchange for a tip.
Soon after we got out of the traffic, missed our exit and took a little detour to reach our hotel. The hotel was in a bit of a shady area, noisy, industrial and none too pedestrian friendly. We used the hotel shuttle-bus service to get to a restaurant for some dinner. Tibetan food this time, decent but nothing special.
For the evening we watched some Independence Day from TV. Very fitting for the trip.
