It was the last day of our road-trip and we wanted to end it on a high note. So instead of venturing back in to the heart of the city where none of us felt comfortable, we decided to pack our bags and head out of the city. To the nearby Bear Mountain State Park.
After an hours drive we arrived and noticed we weren’t the only ones there… As it was a weekend there were a lot of people camping and spending their time outdoors. We decided to drive straight to the top of the mountain and do a little hike there instead of trying to hike all the way up the mountain in the heat. On the top there were barely any people and the air was much nicer. The hiking trail was also the perfect length. Enough to get some fresh air and view some amazing scenery.
On the way back we stopped for some dinner in a The Cheesecake factory and again, we were more than happy with the food.
This was the perfect ending to the trip. I bet there would have been much more to see of New York City, but it just isn’t for everyone. Definitely a place to see at least once in your life, but not a place I long to return to.
